Air Show

We got invited to go to Bart's work to view the Air Show at Hill Air Force Base. Here are the kids wearing their ear protection, because some of those planes were loud!

It was a really fun show to watch! Sometimes Preston and I wondered about the planes because they really looked like they were going to crash. Preston had fun trying to figure out what kind each airplane was.

Bart gave us a tour of his work at Janicki. It was so fun to spend time with Bart and Gayleen since we've been living far away for a while. Yay for family get togethers!

Natalie wore the ear protection pretty well, mostly because she didn't like the louder sounds of the airplanes.

Free airplane and cotton candy! What could be better?

Here's what could be better... remote control cars you can drive around! This boy had fun!

We live pretty close to Hill Air Force Base and just to prove it when we went home and the Air Show was still going on we had jets flying over our house. Jordan and Dad watched together for a while on the trampoline while I put Natalie down for a nap. What a fun day! Thanks Bart and Gayleen for the great times!

Utah Sweet Home

We made it safely to Utah! It was a two day drive from Tucson to Layton. Preston drove the gigantic Uhaul with trailer to tow the Corolla and I drove the van with the kiddos. We stopped at a hotel in St. George, which was an awesome break. We swam in the pool, had pizza for dinner, and then we all crashed and slept really well.

The kids had lots of snacks and watch lots of movies (thank you new van for your dvd player aka life saver). It went as well as could be expected. When we arrived in Layton; Cambria and Nick were there with the keys to the house. They live just down the street. We are excited to be so close to them for the time we are living in this rental.

Some guys from the ward were nice enough to come and help us moved boxes into our home. We will be unpacking boxes for a while but are enjoying getting settled into our new life here. Preston is learning the ropes at Wyle on Hill Air Force Base and I am learning where things are in town.

We are LOVING the cooler weather here, the grass, the trees, etc. We've had a busy summer which I will have to catch up on and blog about. But here's the update for now.

Women's Hike

I had the wonderful opportunity before moving to go on a women's hike with these buff ladies, Angela and Rayleen. We hiked a 6 mile trail on top of Mount Lemmon.

Here is a picture of a little house that people can rent out to stay in. I'm amazed they could build it on such a steep rock.

The view from up high before we hiked down.

We found this narrow stairway surrounded by rocks. I wonder who brought the cement all that way?

Here is Angela and Rayleen, my awesome hiking buddies.

Cool looking tree... that has seen better days.

I saw this big log and said, "I want to walk across that." Kid impulse from growing up in Washington. I'm a Washington girl always. You can't see it in the picture but the log was hanging over a little stream. It was fun!

My heart is so happy being surrounded by trees.

Nifty rock formations. The two rocks almost touch. It's fun to see what you find on a hike.

Here's a view of that little house on the rock from the other side as we came back up to the top of the trail. Also some pretty nature pictures.

The view from the top looking down at Tucson below. I am so grateful for Rayleen and Angela being willing to go on a hike with me. It was a wonderful experience to spend time with them and to be in the great outdoors.

Pool Time and Neighborhood BBQ

We went as a family to the Oro Valley pool. We had a wonderfully wet time!

The kids splashing it up in the splash pad.

What a big smile. These kids sure do love water!

Jordan really gets excited about swimming with his "muscles" in the big pool.

Good times.

Natalie and Mommy. Natalie is getting more brave and will try to jump into the pool like her brother. It gives her parents a heart attack... we need to get this girls some "muscles" of her own and quick.

We had a wonderful evening with our neighbors in the cul-de-sac. We had a BBQ, ice cream, and finished it off with some cul-de-sac baseball.

Jordan and Natalie had fun going up to bat and than maybe even more fun running the bases.

It was a great time with our neighbors visiting, having fun, and enjoying the evening. We feel very blessed to have had such great neighbors while here in Oro Valley.
