February

February 2nd snuck up on me this year, maybe because we were all sick in January for so long. The kiddos did a fantastic job of decorating my cherry chip b-day cake. I especially like the crooked candles and the piled on sprinkles.

We had a bunch of Webb fam over for a belated b-day party. It was wonderful to see everyone and to feel so loved. Here's to the big 3-0! P.S. Preston insisted on having the correct number of candles... that's why it looks like the cupcakes are going to catch on fire any second.

In preparation for baby we moved Natalie out of the crib and into her big girl bed. Jordan was really excited for her and that made her even more excited. Jordan and Natalie are good buddies and it is the sweetest thing to see.

Nap time in the big girl bed. I wonder sometimes how she has gotten so big. Natalie is all out toddler now with opinions, energy, and trying to do all that her big brother does.

My childhood friend Michelle came over to visit one day with her son Jacob. It was so nice to visit and get together. Good times.

Here we have Jake and his trusty pirate friend Izzy. Jake has a sword and spy glass and Izzy is prepared with her bag of pixie dust in case of emergencies. They are big fans of the show "Jake and the Never Land Pirates."

One Sunday morning I looked at my cute fam and thought... "They look so adorable in their church clothes I've just gotta take a picture." So I did. Jordan is into bringing his own Book of Mormon to primary. What a big kid he is becoming.

37 weeks pregnant with baby Katelyn. We've entered the safe zone... now we'll just wait and see when she decides to come. We're getting really excited to meet her!

(From the proud father's perspective) After a failed attempt at going ice fishing at Strawberry Reservoir (we were thwarted by an oil tanker crashing and burning on the highway (no one got hurt), which closed the way to get to Strawberry) we tried our hand at fishing Farmington Pond. Things were pretty slow for us and the rest of the folks fishing at the pond. I got Jordan all set up with a worm, threw it out for him, and set it up on a stick so he did not have to hold it. I then began working my line when all of a sudden Jordan yelled, "DAD!" I spun around thinking he was hurt or something and he was pointing to where his fishing pole HAD BEEN! Something had drug the pole into the water about three feet. I quickly waded in and grabbed his line and wouldn't you know there was a fish on the end! I held the pole for Jordan and he reeled like a champ and brought the fish right up to shore. He was so excited when the fish hit the surface of the water and made a big splash. We were all then really surprised when the fish got to shore and it was 18" long! Jordan had caught a huge fish!

We brought it in and everyone really enjoyed watching Jordan be amazed at the huge fish. For the rest of the time all he wanted to do was play with the fish on the rope we hooked it to. He was in heaven! When we got home we cooked that fish up and Jordan ate a delicious fish sandwich. We have a budding fisherman on our hands.

After the snow fell pretty well (for about the second time this winter) we decided to make a snowman. Jordan did a great job helping with rolling the balls up, finding rocks and sticks for the face and arms, and then jumping on it and destroying any evidence of a snow man. We ended up tossing the big chunks of snow on the driveway and watching them disintegrate. Tons of fun in the snow!
