Playing at the pool

Last Thursday Preston and I took Jordan to the kiddie pool at Veterans Memorial Park here in Provo. We thought he'd like it since he likes to play with water at home. What we didn't expect was his extreme squeals of delight at just seeing all the water! We hadn't even gotten into the water yet and he was freaking out. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen. Needless to say Jordan LOVES the pool!!!

Something else Jordan also loves to do is to walk around. We hold his hands and he goes full speed ahead... turns out he does the same thing in the water.

There's Jordan walking in the water as his Dad helps him along. He'll be walking on his own before we know it. What a little mover!

Jordan really enjoyed using his hands to splash the water. I have never seen him more excited in his life. We are definitely getting a pool pass.

Jordan and Daddy splashing in the water. We'll be having more fun times at the pool since Jordan is such a summer/water baby.

Camping June 2011

We took Jordan camping for the first time this past Friday. We had a ward camp out at Diamond Fork near Spanish Fork. We had a great time and loved being in the great outdoors.

Jordan looking cool in his Dad's hat.

The campground. Our tent (if you can see it) is the green and orange one. Our ward put together quit the event with delicious meals and lots of fun games. It was good times all around.

One of my favorite things about camping is roasting marshmallows over the fire and making smores. Mmmmm... delicious. P.S. I found out that those really big marshmallows don't roast very well. What a bummer... they looked so promising, but the fact is they're just too big to get melted all the way through. That's what I get for being greedy.

Good morning boys. Preston and Jordan cuddled up close together after an adventurous night. Jordan went down to bed like a champ at 8:00 pm, while hanging out with friends by the fire we heard Jordan around 11:30 pm, he went back down well after getting over freaking out about not being in his crib, and after that he woke up at 3:00 am. From then on it was a game of trying to keep him asleep till morning. It was worse then when he was a newborn! Oh well, camping's always an adventure right?

It was a beautiful spot! We love camping and so enjoyed being out in it. The weather was awesome and everything is especially green this year with all the rain we've had here in Utah.

Jordan enjoying some graham crackers left over from the smores.

The ending result of the camp out was one tired little guy... Not to mention his tired parents who didn't get much sleep the night before. Maybe we'll wait till he's a bit older for our next camping adventure. Day hikes are sounding pretty good to me.

Half Marathon June 2011

On June 11th, 2011 Preston and I ran our first Half Marathon! We participated in the Utah Valley Half Marathon which was held conveniently here in Provo. It started in Provo Canyon, then went onto University Avenue, and ended at Center Street. It was a gorgeous run in the canyon and we had beautiful weather that day too. I can still hardly believe we ran 13.1 miles! How awesome!

We ran the race with Preston's sister Cambria, her husband Nic, and our good friend Kevin. It was fun running the race with these guys, cheering each other on, and getting each other excited about the run. Good times had by all. Way to go everyone!

Jordan enjoyed tasking my medal after the race. I guess it was high quality otherwise he wouldn't have chewed on it for as long as he did. Silly boy....

Our good friends Jane and Jay Griffith were at the race too. We got to see them during and after the half marathon. They both did great and are awesome examples of running hard.

My friends Michelle and Mark were wonderful babysitters for Jordan while Preston and I were running. He was such a good boy for them. I'm so glad he didn't freak out. What a good natured little guy.

After the race we went back to our home and had a delicious BBQ. The food tasted especially good because we were all so hungry from the race. Yummmm.... hamburgers, hotdogs, fruit, root beer floats, etc.

Everyone chowing down under the maple tree. I love our back yard!

Preston finished with a time of 2:12:23 and myself with a time of 2:19:42. Maybe we'll be able to beat our time in our next half marathon. It was an awesome day of accomplishing long trained for goals, pushing our bodies hard, observing this beautiful earth, and enjoying time with friends and family. My what a day.... what a day.

Jordan's mobile!

Jordan is officially mobile! On May 15th he did his first forward crawl and he's done nothing but moved moved moved ever since. The neat thing was Preston got to witness the event. We were playing on the floor with Jordan after church and he crawled for Preston's cell phone. Electronics are still the thing that gets him crawling the fastest.

"Peekaboo!" Where will he be next? I am finding I've got to keep a closer eye on my little mover. It is so neat that he can go and explore more of this big world.

Preston and Jordan having some father son time playing on the floor.

Fun times! Notice Jordan's got his hand on his prize.... Preston's phone. Jordan certainly fits into this generation of loving electronic devises. We are so proud of all that Jordan is learning to do. In the past couple of days after crawling he has learned to go from his tummy to sitting and he's started pulling up on things. It's totally time to baby proof our home!

Sealed for Eternity

On May 6th, 2011 Mark and Michelle Nielson were sealed for eternity in the Logan Temple. Michelle has been my dear friend since... well nursery and I am so thrilled that I was able to come and be a part of this special day! We are all so happy for the two of you! Congratulations!

"True Wove! That bwessed awangment... that dweam wifin a dweam."

The excitement is shared by all the family and friends.

My other dear friend Kira was able to come to the wedding too. It was so fun to spend time with her and her little boy David.

Here is a picture of David running around playing and Jordan eating his shoe... which would never stay on by the way. Oh well, he looked cute for the rare minutes his shoes were on.

Here is the wonderful Lizon family! I hadn't seen some of Michelle's siblings in years. It was fun to catch up and see how well they are all doing... not to mention how grown up their kids are getting.

Here Jordan and I are in front of the Logan Temple. Jordan is looking at something obviously more interesting then the camera.

Here are my two favorite guys! As the day went on I reflected on the joy the gospel brings to having families sealed together for time and all eternity. I feel so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to be sealed to my immediate and extended family forever. What joy this gospel brings.

Cambria's Graduation 2011

Preston's sister Cambria graduated from the University of Utah on May 5th, 2011 in Social Work. We are proud of her and her great accomplishment! Way to go! Here is a sweet picture of her and her hubby Nic.

Marissa, Cam, and Preston all smiles in the celebration of the evening.

Cambria and her proud father.

Friends and family there for Cambria on her big day! Way to go girl!

Jordan's first hair cut!

It was time to give Jordan his first hair cut. Now that his helmet is off (for good! Yay!) we really noticed how long his hair was getting... especially around the ears. Sometimes I still think it is so funny that I have a blonde'y baby. I always thought I'd have kids that looked like my Webb family... all brunets. Jordan got his Dad's blonde hair. I think he looks a lot like his Dad's baby pictures too.

Here we go! Jordan looks a little scared... "What's that buzzing sound?"

It wasn't much but it needed to go. Jordan did really well with his first hair cut. (I was worried it'd be like when my little brother Ron used to get hair cuts... my family knows exactly what I mean). Preston held his head as I buzzed away. He only got concerned when I was taking too long. And for never cutting a babies hair it went pretty well... I only messed up a little.

All done!
Jordan looks sharp with his shorter hair. These are my two favorite boys.

On to bath time to clean Jordan up. It was a fun little adventure. This first year has so many fun firsts to experience for Jordan and us parents as well.
We love our little boy!
